The situation on the beaches of Anapa after the aftermath of the wreck of fuel oil tankers remains difficult. This was announced on June 19 by the head of Rosprirodnadzor, Svetlana Radionova, in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

According to the head of the department, the amount of damage from the oil spill in the Kerch Strait has already amounted to almost 85 billion rubles.

"This year, we will all experience the burden of the environmental problem that we have received due to improper handling of dangerous goods," Radionova said.

As the head of the department emphasized, the issues of disposal of the exported sand are discussed weekly. At the same time, it was decided to cover the affected area with cofferdams.

On December 15, 2024, due to bad weather, the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait, resulting in a spill of petroleum products. At that time, 27 people were evacuated from both ships, and one person died. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group has been set up to coordinate efforts to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.

Later, on March 25, 2025, repeated emissions of fuel oil were recorded. It was reported that petroleum products were found near the "Beach Village", the central beach of Anapa, the mouth of the Mozhepsin River, as well as the area between Vityazevo and Blagoveshchenskaya village.
