The new Moskvich model was photographed on the assembly line of the plant

A new seven-seat model with an index of 8 is being assembled at the Moskvich automobile plant. The production of crossovers and ready-made cars was captured by a photojournalist from Izvestia during a visit to the capital's enterprise.

The automobile plant announced preparations for the start of production of the Moskvich 8 in mid-April. The novelty will be the fourth model of the revived brand, the announcement of the crossover's entry into the market took place a year ago, in April 2024. Initially, production and sales launch were planned until the end of last year, but later the debut was postponed.

The length of the Moskvich 8 is 4824 mm with a wheelbase of 2830 mm. The car received a GDI gasoline engine (174 hp) with a seven-speed robotic transmission. The list of equipment includes a digital dashboard with a 12.3-inch display, wireless phone charging, an all-round camera system, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The official dates for the start of sales and the price of the model were not announced.

On May 6, it became known that Moskvich 2025 cars increased in price by 38-53 thousand rubles. The current year's Moskvich 3 crossover now costs at least 1.8 million rubles. This is the basic version with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a manual transmission. A modification with a CVT costs 100,000 rubles more. The top-end package will cost 2.04 million rubles.

On April 29, Moskvich announced that the plant had produced several hundred Moskvich 5 crossovers. The compact crossover can be put into mass production. The cars have been added to Moskvich's corporate fleet, where they are being tested by engineers and testers in real conditions.
