- Ex-CIA analyst Johnson predicted a "hysteria" in Europe against the background of negotiations between Russia and the United States

Europe, against the background of negotiations between the American and Russian leaders, will unsuccessfully "throw a tantrum" in order to resist any decision of the parties. On March 18, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Izvestia.
"They (Europeans — Ed.) will look like a three-year-old child who throws a tantrum and cries, falls to the floor, kicks and makes noise. But that's what they are. They are useless, meaningless children," he said.
Johnson noted that Europe, mired in huge debts, is not an economic center. It has no significant natural resources to speak of and is politically divided.
"Europe will resist any decision, but they don't have much strength to do anything to stop it. And the only ones who are talking about sending troops now are France, Great Britain and, it seems, Denmark. Well, good luck. You know, they're just buffoons," he concluded.
A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump took place earlier in the day. During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.
In addition, Putin supported Trump's idea of a mutual refusal of the Russian Federation and Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command.
