For the first time since January this year, the Yemeni Houthis fired on Israeli territories in response to the resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on March 18 by Yahya Saria, the military representative of the Houthis.
The military-political Shiite movement Ansar Allah attacked the Nevatim air base in southern Israel.
"Our armed forces attacked the Nevatim airbase of the Israeli enemy with a hypersonic missile <...>. The operation has achieved its goal... We intend to expand the scope of our targets in Israel in the coming hours and days if military operations in the Gaza Strip do not stop," Saria said on the social network X.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded rocket fire from Yemen. In the early morning, the IDF announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in Gaza.
Journalist Barak Ravid said that Israel had warned the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance about the resumption of attacks on Gaza. Later, Al Masirah TV channel noted that the Yemeni Houthis plan to continue the military escalation in support of Hamas.
