The Federation Council noted the focus of Trump and Putin on results

During the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump, the self-worth of the two countries' bilateral relations was demonstrated. This was announced on March 18 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.
"The self—worth of bilateral relations between Russia and the United States has also been demonstrated, where the Ukrainian "case" is one of several, although important; but it is more about overcoming the bad legacy of Trump's predecessors, rather than absolutizing this man—made obstacle," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Kosachev added that thanks to this conversation, an indisputable step forward was made, since both sides are focused on results. According to him, Russia has confirmed its readiness for peace with a number of concrete steps in the energy and humanitarian spheres.
The phone conversation between Putin and Trump took place earlier in the day. During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.
In addition, Putin supported Trump's idea of a mutual refusal of the Russian Federation and Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command. In addition, Putin and Trump discussed the need to stop the proliferation of strategic weapons during a telephone conversation.
