- Only 12 polling stations have been opened in the PMR for the elections to the Moldovan parliament.
On Sunday, September 28, the Central Election Commission (CEC) opened only 12 polling stations for residents of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) to vote in the parliamentary elections, and a few days before the event, four of them were moved to remote settlements.
As the journalist Vasily Moiseenko told Izvestia, about 275 thousand citizens with Moldovan passports live in the region.
One of the voters, Anatoly, expressed the opinion that nothing will change in the republic within 4-5 years after the elections. In addition, Anatoly said that he is most concerned about the situation of villages in Moldova — according to him, they are empty. He added that people are unemployed, and there has been a drought for several years in a row.
"I want to be friends with everyone, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Bulgaria, and Poland. If we are friends with everyone, then we will be happy," the voter summed up.
Earlier in the day, a Moldovan citizen who attended the parliamentary elections in Moscow told Izvestia that Russian voters were treated very badly, as "scum of society." She also noted that there are very few ballots for voters in the Russian Federation.
Parliamentary elections began in Moldova on September 28. Polling stations in the country opened at 07:00 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time) and will close at 21:00. In addition, 301 polling stations will operate outside the country to give citizens abroad the opportunity to vote. The total circulation of the ballots was 864.3 thousand copies. So, according to current data, the turnout in the parliamentary elections exceeded 14%.
