The court extended blogger Lercek's house arrest until September 28.
The Troitskiy District Court of Moscow has extended the house arrest of blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek). This was announced on August 21 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
"The Moscow court has extended the measure of restraint against Valeria Chekalina," the Telegram channel says.
It is specified that the house arrest has been extended for one month and seven days (until September 28).
The criminal case against Chekalina and her ex-husband Artyom was opened in October last year. The ex-husband and wife, as well as their accomplice, were suspected of illegally withdrawing more than 250 million rubles from Russia to Dubai using forged documents (art. 193.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
In May, the tax service issued a new bill to the blogger for more than 28 million rubles. At the hearing on the extension of the preventive measure on May 22, the prosecution indicated that the investigation of the criminal case against Lercek and her ex-husband could not be completed on time.
