The Immortal Regiment movement has become a unique phenomenon in the life of Russia and many other countries. This was announced on December 8 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a welcome telegram to the participants of the Memory Out of Time forum.

"Over the past time, your movement has become a vivid, truly unique phenomenon in the life of our country and many other states, has found a response in the hearts of millions of people and broad public support," the document says, published on the Kremlin's website.

The Russian leader stressed that tens of thousands of participants in this project devote themselves to an important cause, conducting systematic work to preserve the truth about the history of the Fatherland and the exploits of the ancestors who defeated Nazism. Putin also noted that the movement continues to develop, attracting more and more like-minded people.

On May 10, the Immortal Regiment campaign was held in Perth, Australia. The participants performed the songs "Katyusha" and "Cranes" in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. On the same day, participants of the Immortal Regiment action, held in Ottawa, Canada, marched with photos of their veteran relatives.
