Five Russian tourists were injured in an accident in southeastern Egypt.
Five Russian citizens were injured in a minibus accident between the Egyptian resorts of Al-Qusair and Marsa Alam. This was reported on November 14 by the Egyptian newspaper An-Nahar.
"A passenger car collided with a minibus on the Marsa Alam-Al-Qusair road in the Red Sea province, killing an Egyptian citizen and injuring seven others, including five Russian tourists and two from Azerbaijan," the publication said.
The newspaper noted that the injured were transferred to the Al-Qusair Central Hospital. According to the sources of the publication, there is also a German citizen among the victims.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) clarified in its Telegram channel that Russian tourists had purchased a so-called street tour from one of the Egyptian travel agencies.
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Hurghada confirmed to TASS the fact of the accident and clarified that two injured Russians suffered moderate injuries. The rest have "just scratches." There are no deaths among Russian citizens. According to the diplomatic mission, all Russian tourists have health insurance.
On November 11, a bus collided with a truck on the Ras Gareb road in Egypt. As a result, two people were killed and 39 others were injured, 27 of whom were Russians.
Later it was reported about the death of a Russian citizen in an accident. The fact of her death was confirmed by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Hurghada. Five more Russian tourists suffered moderate injuries and were hospitalized. Later, the head of the Red Sea Province health department, Ismail al-Arabi, said that the condition of the four Russians was assessed as serious.
Most of the injured have been discharged from hospitals.
