The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has eliminated one of the key members of the Quds Force of the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, an elite unit of the Iranian Armed Forces). This was reported to the IDF on December 25.

"The IDF and [Israeli State Intelligence] ISA have eliminated Hussein Mahmoud Marshad al-Jawhari, a key terrorist in the operational unit of the Quds Force (Unit 840), in the Ansariya area of Lebanon," said a statement posted on the army's official Telegram channel.

According to the IDF, the man has been involved in planning and carrying out terrorist attacks against Israel in recent years.

On December 9, the IDF announced that it had eliminated Ibrahim Muhammad Raslan, a maintenance officer for the Lebanese Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. In addition, the bridgehead and other military installations of the group were subjected to an air strike. It is noted that members of Hezbollah conducted training on handling small arms and other types of weapons at the attacked training ground.

In early November, the IDF launched a series of attacks against Hezbollah's infrastructure in southern Lebanon. It was clarified that the affected object was used by the movement to restore infrastructure.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on November 2 that the armed groups of the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon are trying to rearm, and the country intends to exercise the right to self-defense under the terms of the ceasefire.
