An electric train caught fire at the Elektrogorsk station in the Gorky direction near Moscow. This was announced on December 22 by the press service of the Moscow Railways (MZhD).
"As a result of a short circuit, a contact wire fell onto the roof of an electric train car, followed by heating and sparking of the roof equipment," the Telegram channel said.
According to the press service, the fire was promptly extinguished by the locomotive crew. Due to the incident, traffic was temporarily suspended on the Elektrogorsk — Pavlovsky Posad section, and a repair team is working on site.
It is specified that the situation does not affect the movement of electric trains of the main route of the Gorky direction.
On the same day, a pop occurred in the courtyard of an apartment building in the Zyablikovo district of Moscow, after which one car caught fire. According to preliminary information, one person was injured. According to eyewitnesses, emergency workers are working at the scene.
Later, the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in the capital opened a criminal case. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
