- In Tula, a case was opened against a pensioner who sold an apartment according to the "Valley scheme".
In Tula, a 69-year-old pensioner who sold an apartment under the "Valley scheme" was accused of fraud. Daniel, the buyer, told Izvestia about this on December 20.
In September 2024, he bought a one-room apartment from a woman, and a few days later, his realtor began receiving threats from the seller's relatives. At the same time, the pensioner contacted the police, saying that she had given the money to the scammers.
"We went to the police to write a statement, where we found out that our saleswoman had been deceived by scammers. But the most interesting thing was that the money from the sale of the apartment was still on the letter of credit. It was not disclosed," Daniel shared.
The police found out that everything was in order with the deal, they did not cancel it. But three months later, the pensioner filed a lawsuit to invalidate the deal, claiming that she acted under pressure from scammers.
The court of first instance annulled the contract of sale, obliging her to return the entire amount to the buyer. At the same time, according to Daniel, the seller, her representatives and relatives refused to return the money.
"She said that she sold the apartment under the influence of scammers. Allegedly, it was necessary to sell and give the money back. At the same time, she had no correspondence or calls with these same scammers, she could not show anything. And the question is, did they exist at all?" said Daniel.
As a result, the buyer wrote a statement, and law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case against the ex-owner of the apartment under Part 4 of Article 159 ("Fraud on an especially large scale").
The details of the story can be found in the information and analytical program "Izvestia. The main thing" on Channel Five.
On December 16, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the ownership of the disputed apartment of singer Larisa Dolina for the buyer Polina Lurie. The court also decided to cancel all decisions of the lower courts in the case of the sale of the apartment of the actress.
Lawyer Timur Matveev told Izvestia at the same time that the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in the Dolina apartment case should fundamentally affect judicial practice in relation to similar claims throughout the country.
