A serial poisoner from Balashikha used poison to replace spices for his stepfather

Artyom Missyura, a serial poisoner from Balashikha, filled his stepfather's coffee machine with a "potion" of chemicals and replaced spices in his house with poison. This was announced on September 26 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Missyura's stepfather admitted that there were often disagreements between them. The young man worked for his friend for a year, and then was caught stealing car discs. Artyom also stole money from his grandmother more than once, although his parents never limited his means. Still unaware that his stepson was poisoning him, the man was more than once surprised by the strange taste of the products and noticed the consequences of their use.

He mentioned drinking acetone-scented wine and eating dumplings that tasted bitter after being seasoned from a salt shaker. In addition, he remembered how the water leaking out from under the kettle had eaten through the stone countertop.

A similar case occurred with a home coffee machine: an unknown liquid corroded the plastic from the inside and turned it liquid. The man added that the master who examined the damage jokingly suggested that someone wanted to get rid of him. Later, Missyura's stepfather saw him pouring powder from a bag into a pot, frying pan, and jar of salt.

He faces a life sentence for two murders and seven more attempted murders.

Earlier that day, it became known that Missyura wanted to give his uncle and grandmother a deadly liquid disguised as "holy water." Speaking at the meeting, Missyura's uncle noted that his nephew had repeatedly brought food and drinks to their home. The bottles had no labels, and the liquid spilled in them was very sweet.

Missyura was detained on July 19, 2024. According to the investigation, from January to June, the suspect, while in his parents' apartment, poured strong chemicals into their products with the aim of fatal poisoning. Later, a surveillance camera was installed in the apartment, which recorded how Missyura poured toxic substances into his parents' food. On August 25 of this year, Missyura fully admitted his guilt.
