The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has appealed to the Tverskoy District Court of the capital with a demand to recognize Denis Shtengelov, ex-co-owner of the Kemerovo Winter Cherry shopping center, and his father Nikolai Shtengelov as extremists. This is stated in the case materials published on the official portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow.

The application was submitted on August 22 of this year and registered on August 25. The basis for initiating legal proceedings is Article 13 of the Federal Law (FZ) ("On Countering Extremist Activities").

The Dorogomilovsky court of Moscow on Saturday, March 22, partially satisfied 11 claims for compensation for moral damage in the case of a fire in a shopping center. The plaintiffs were citizens whose relatives died in the tragedy. The defendants in the debate were the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and JSC Kemerovo Confectionery Plant.

The fire at the Winter Cherry shopping center occurred on March 25, 2018. As a result, 60 people died, 37 of whom were children. In total, there were 15 defendants in the criminal case of the fire. According to investigators, they joined an organized criminal group and only created the appearance of compliance with fire safety regulations, but in fact they saved money.
