Sollers will present a new Russian SUV by the end of the year
The Sollers company plans to complete the development of a new SUV of the Russian brand Sollers at the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year and in the same period to hold a presentation of the production-ready model. This was stated by Zoya Kaika, Deputy General Director of the company, on the sidelines of the Innoprom exhibition, TASS reports on July 9.
The project, which is being developed together with Chinese partners, is currently in its final stages. The installation of welding equipment and an updated conveyor for the production of a new SUV at the Ulyanovsk production site has already been completed, and the paint complex is currently being upgraded and a new press production is being created.
Kaika noted that the launch of the model in 2026 will be carried out according to the full production cycle, including stamping of body elements at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.
The day before, Sollers announced the start of production of the new Sollers SP7 minivan at the Yelabuga plant. The deputy general Director of the company shared that the localization level of the minivan will exceed 60%. Starting in 2026, the manufacturer intends to provide a sufficient number of points for the model to participate in public procurement and offer it as a premium class taxi. Kaika stressed that the SP7 will be at least 20% cheaper than imported gasoline-powered analogues on the market.
On January 30 of this year, Sollers launched production of all-wheel drive Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups using full-cycle technology at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, these models are based on JAC. A new SUV is also being developed based on the Sollers ST9/JAC T9.
