In Krasnoyarsk, a former policeman was imprisoned for bribes worth 400 thousand rubles.

The investigation of a criminal case against a former police officer accused of bribery has been completed in Krasnoyarsk. This was announced on Tuesday, May 27, by the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee for the region.

"The investigation of the criminal case against the former head of the Department of technical Supervision of the Krasnoyarsk Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has been completed," the department said in a Telegram statement.

The man is accused of committing a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe in the form of money on a large scale by an official").

As indicated, in the period from August 2018 to May 2023, a former police officer received bribes from a businessman totaling 400 thousand rubles. The businessman specialized in urban passenger transportation and paid bribes for his condescending attitude during inspections.

It is specified that the accused is currently in custody. The entrepreneur, in turn, was released from liability in connection with a note to art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving a bribe"), voluntarily reporting the fact of illegal remuneration.

Earlier, on May 20, the detained mayor of Novocherkassk, Yuri Lysenko, was charged with bribery. Criminal cases have been initiated against the official under Articles 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe") and Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in bribery"). The total value of the property and the services provided to Lysenko is more than 8 million rubles. Lysenko was detained on May 13, and the next day his apartment and the city administration building were searched.
