Blogger Nekoglai and his wife were arrested for drug trafficking in Moldova

Blogger Nikolai Lebedev, known as Nekoglay, and his wife were detained in Moldova on suspicion of drug trafficking on a particularly large scale. This was reported by the Moldovan portal PulsMedia, citing sources close to the investigation.

"IP Botanica employees, together with INI employees, searched Tiktoker's house on Herman Pintea Street in the municipality of Steucheni, where it was found that he had organized a drug den," the publication says.

During the search, law enforcement officers allegedly found two bags of drugs, electronic scales and other items that could be used to prepare and package prohibited substances. Lebedev and his wife were initially detained for 72 hours. After reviewing the case, the investigating judge issued warrants for their arrest for a period of 30 days and detention in prison No. 13.

If convicted, they could face seven to 15 years in prison. In addition, the legislation provides for the possibility of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of two to five years.

In November 2022, Nekoglay filmed a parody of an employee of the 138th separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, who repeatedly threw away grenades that a Ukrainian drone dropped on him. The Presnensky District Court of Moscow found the blogger guilty of violating the migration regime and ordered his expulsion from the Russian Federation.

Later, the blogger posted a video in which he apologized for parodying the feat of the Russian military. On February 13, 2023, Nekoglai was put on the wanted list under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
