A Eurowings airline flight en route from Stuttgart to Vienna was forced to return to the departure airport due to a lightning strike. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on July 31.

It is noted that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, July 30. The Airbus A320 was already in the air when it was struck by lightning. There were 106 passengers and crew members on board the ship. For safety reasons, the pilots decided to return to Stuttgart.

The aircraft landed about 40 minutes after takeoff. Eurowings stressed that the safety of the flight was not threatened at any point. After landing, the liner was inspected by technicians.

Passengers were transferred to other flights. According to the airline, after completing the technical inspection, the aircraft should return to regular flights during the day.
