Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili appeared in court in a new image — with a forelock on his head and a shirt with a red pattern, reminiscent of Ukrainian embroidery. This was reported on May 26 by the newspaper "Paragraph".

"Saakashvili changed into an embroidered shirt and grew his hair on his head under a forelock. In this form, the former head of state appeared at the next court session," the publication says in the Telegram channel of the publication.

The published picture shows the politician in the courtroom. As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", it is not specified in which case the hearing was held.

On November 13, 2025, ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili asked President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to include him in the list of civilian prisoners. In his address, Saakashvili recalled that Zelensky had already helped him regain Ukrainian citizenship in 2019.

Saakashvili, who led Georgia from 2004 to 2013 after the Rose Revolution, remains in custody. After his secret return to the country in 2021, new sentences were added to his old terms (3 and 6 years). In March 2025, the court sentenced him to nine years for embezzlement of state funds and 4.5 years for illegal border crossing.
