Toneil, a well-known ostrich in social networks, has died in the United States.
An ostrich named Toneil, who gained popularity thanks to videos about his unique personality and characteristic behavior, died after receiving an unexpected injury. This was reported by People magazine with reference to the owner of the animal, Alexa Freemeyer.
"Despite the deep sorrow over the loss of Tonail, I am forever grateful for the time we spent together. He brought so much light, smiles and laughter into my life and into the lives of everyone who watched him grow up on the Internet. His playful spirit and unique personality touched countless hearts, and I will always cherish these memories. Thank you to my incredible community for their love and support during this difficult time," the animal's owner told People.
On her social media page, Freemeyer shared that on the day of her death, she released Toneil from the cage for filming, after which he began his daily morning activity. When the owner moved to the other side, the operator noticed that the ostrich was lying motionless on the ground.
Freemeyer recognized a fracture in the animal's leg and called the emergency veterinary service. According to her, the ostrich could turn sharply and lose its balance. Upon arrival, the veterinarian examined Tonale and concluded that the leg could not be repaired. So, the hostess had to make a decision about his euthanasia.
