The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the verdict in absentia of TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring) in the case of public justification of terrorism. This was reported to Izvestia in court on January 20.

In December 2024, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced the TV presenter to 6.5 years in a penal colony.

It was established that during the recording of the interview on August 14, 2023, while outside the Russian Federation, Lazareva publicly stated the permissibility of carrying out terrorist attacks on Russian cities using drones.

On October 7, 2025, the TV presenter was sentenced in absentia to seven years in a penal colony in a case of evading the duties of a foreign agent. Later, on December 22, 2025, Lazareva appealed to the Supreme Court against the verdict in the terrorism justification case. The complaint was received by the court on December 15.
