The Kremlin did not comment on Russia's plans for Denmark and Greenland.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the question of "Russia's plans" for Denmark and Greenland against the background of the statement by US President Donald Trump.
"As for our plans for Denmark and Greenland <...> I will leave it without comment," Peskov said.
He also added that the Kremlin prefers not to think about "whether this is a good thing or a bad thing" when talking about the American leader's intentions to annex Greenland.
Earlier in the day, Peskov agreed at a briefing with statements that Trump would go down in history if he resolved the issue with Greenland. According to him, the Kremlin analyzes information about what is happening around Greenland and is closely monitoring the development of the situation.
On January 14, Trump reiterated that US relations with Denmark are "good," but Greenland is necessary for Washington to ensure national security. The head of the government of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, noted that he considers the "repeated rhetoric" of the United States towards the island to be disrespectful and unacceptable.
