The head of the Central Bank of Latvia announced the actual war of Europe with Russia
The European Union (EU) is actually at war with Russia. This was announced on January 18 by the head of the Central Bank of Latvia, Martins Kazaks.
"It is naive to think that we are not at war with Russia," he said in an interview with The Financial Times.
Kazaks noted that if a military conflict breaks out on the territory of a eurozone member state, this could lead to problems of financial stability, difficulties in the banking system and debt sustainability issues.
The day before, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Western European countries would continue to support Ukraine by preparing for a conflict with Russia. He stressed that Hungary faces the daily danger of being drawn into conflict, and his task is "to keep this door locked with both hands and feet every day."
Before that, on December 23 last year, Orban said that the moment was getting closer when Europe could start a war directly against Russia. According to him, the Europeans have openly declared their desire to arm and finance Ukraine, despite peaceful attempts by US President Donald Trump.
