Statements about the possibility of defeating the Russian Armed Forces at the front are nothing more than children's fairy tales. This was announced on January 16 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"I have not yet met a person, a serious expert, who would argue that the Russians can be defeated at the front to such an extent that they will be obliged to pay reparations. This is something from the category of children's fairy tales," Orban said. A fragment of his speech is given in the You Tube channel of the politician.

Orban noted that with such statements, European politicians restrain discontent and fair questions from citizens. He stressed that if he had made such statements in Hungary, he would not have been able to last even a week in his post, as the citizens of the country would have called it frivolity or a scam.

Earlier, on January 6, the former chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Pierre de Villiers, said that Ukraine was not capable of winning the conflict with Russia by military means and should strive for a peaceful settlement. According to him, there is no military solution to the current conflict.

Before that, on December 23, Orban said that the moment was getting closer when Europe could start a war directly against Russia. According to him, the Europeans have openly expressed their desire to arm and finance Ukraine, despite peaceful attempts by US President Donald Trump.
