Rostransnadzor called engine vibration the reason for the return of the Utair flight
The Utair flight en route Dubai — Moscow returned to the departure airport due to vibration of the power plant. This was reported on January 8 in Rostransnadzor.
"During the flight, the crew recorded the vibration of the power plant No. 2, and therefore it was decided to return the aircraft to the airport of departure," the agency's Telegram channel said.
The Interregional Territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Ural Federal District (UFA) organized a set of control measures to study the circumstances of the incident, contacted Utair for operational information and began a comprehensive analysis of the data, including the technical parameters of the flight and the actions of the crew.
The agency also assured that it "keeps under special control the situation with passengers" whose plans were disrupted by the forced delay. Rostransnadzor evaluates the carrier's compliance with the requirements for informing, accommodating and servicing people.
Earlier that day, a Russian Utair plane flying from Dubai to Moscow sent a distress signal on January 8. He circled in the sky over the UAE capital for 1.5 hours. The plane was supposed to land in the Russian capital at 21:15 Moscow time, but did not fly out of the airspace of the city of departure. Utair later reported that the plane had successfully landed at Dubai Airport at 17:37 Moscow time.
Later, the Russian Consulate General in Dubai reported that the passengers of the flight would be provided with food and accommodated in a hotel, if necessary. The diplomats added that they are in constant contact with Al Khalidiah Tourism, the representative office of Utair in the UAE capital.
