The passengers of the Utair flight returning to Dubai will be provided with meals and, if necessary, will be accommodated in a hotel. This was announced on January 8 at the Russian Consulate General in Dubai.

"All passengers of the returned flight will be provided with meals and, if necessary, hotel accommodation," the diplomatic mission told TASS.

The Russian Consulate General added that the diplomats are in constant contact with Al Khalidiah Tourism, a representative office of Utair in the UAE capital.

Earlier that day, a plane of the Russian airline Utair, flying from Dubai to Moscow, sent a distress signal on January 8. He circled in the sky over the UAE capital for 1.5 hours. The plane was supposed to land in the Russian capital at 21:15 Moscow time, but did not fly out of the airspace of the city of departure. Utair later reported that the plane had successfully landed at Dubai Airport at 17:37 Moscow time.
