The preliminary cause of the helicopter crash in the Perm Region was a technical malfunction and pilot error. This was announced on January 7 by the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"The following are considered as preliminary causes of the incident: a technical malfunction and a pilot error," the department's Telegram channel says.

On the same day, the Federal Air Transport Agency classified the helicopter crash in the Kama region as a disaster. It was noted that the investigation would be conducted in accordance with the rules for the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents involving civil aircraft in the Russian Federation.

The helicopter crash in the Perm Region became known earlier that day. It was clarified that the incident occurred on the territory of the Ashatli Park recreation center in the Bardym municipal district. Two people were killed in the crash.

According to the Izvestia source, the helicopter was making an unauthorized flight in the area of the Ashatli Park recreation center. Later, the source clarified that Ilyas Gimadutdinov, an ex-deputy and owner of the Tattranscom transport company, died in a plane crash in the Perm Region.
