A criminal case on negligence was initiated in Norilsk after the death of a five-month-old child from exhaustion. This was announced on December 25 by the Prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

"The prosecutor's office conducted an inspection and found gross violations in the work of the prevention system," the Telegram channel said.

According to the prosecutor's office, the infant's death occurred on December 17, when he and his two young sisters were under the supervision of a 15-year-old sister. Their mother, a 35-year-old unemployed woman, systematically left the children without food for several days.

The Agency found that the medical staff of the children's hospital, having information about violations, did not inform the prevention authorities. The Juvenile Affairs Commission, having received a signal from the school, limited itself to formal inquiries and did not register the family.

On December 22, the woman was arrested. Earlier, she was detained and taken into custody, and a criminal case was opened against her under the article on the murder of a minor committed with extreme cruelty, IA Regnum reports. She admitted her guilt during the interrogation.

The day before, friends of the woman said that the child had recently been severely emaciated — the bones stood out so much that the body found in the crib resembled a skeleton. It turned out that the children regularly starved: before leaving for a few days, the mother did not leave them any food or money. The refrigerator was empty, and the apartment was a mess. Upon returning, the woman called an ambulance, but it was not possible to save the child.
