Iran and Russia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) following the fifth meeting of the information technology working group. This was reported by the IRIB news agency on December 5.

"As a result of the fifth meeting of the joint working group on information and telecommunication technologies, a cooperation document was signed between Iran and Russia," the article says.

According to the agency, the agreement covers cooperation between the two countries in such areas as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital economy, e-government, blockchain, financial technologies, monitoring and control, as well as the development of technology parks and the strengthening of public-private relations in these areas.

On December 3, Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom state Corporation, announced that the use of AI technologies would contribute an additional 110 billion euros to the Russian economy by 2030. On November 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin also noted that the use of artificial intelligence products provides significant advantages in improving labor efficiency. The Head of State called for the development of these technologies.
