Ural Airlines flight attendant Varvara Volkova was sentenced to seven years in a general regime penal colony for spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This was reported on November 23 in the court of the Moscow suburb of Vidnoye.

"The court found Volkova guilty under clause "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation <... and he sentenced her to seven years in prison to serve her sentence in a general regime colony," TASS quoted the court as saying.

According to the investigation, in January 2025, Volkova discovered a video on social media with a Russian tanker participating in a special military operation (SVO) and began to dislike him. Later, when she saw the serviceman in a program on TV, she looked up his phone number, called him and began threatening him.

In addition, in the chat room of the village of Sapronovo in the Moscow region, the accused published a series of posts, in one of which she declared her readiness to "treat tea" to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the event of the capture of the Moscow region.

On October 1, the press service of the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) reported that a criminal case had been opened against Maxim Kruglov, an ex-deputy of the Moscow City Duma from Yabloko, about fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and he was detained. According to the investigation, in April 2022 Kruglov disseminated deliberately false information to an unlimited number of people about the alleged actions of the Russian Armed Forces against the civilian population of Ukraine under the guise of reliable reports.
