On November 14, US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with reporters, announced his desire to hold a trilateral meeting with representatives of Russia and China to discuss reducing nuclear arsenals.

"I would like to denuclearize, in other words, to hold a meeting of the three main [nuclear powers] on the topic of reducing nuclear weapons. <...> We are number one, Russia is number two, China is number three," he said, his words were broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.

At the same time, Trump confirmed his intention to resume nuclear testing.

Earlier, on October 29, it was reported that Trump instructed the Pentagon to begin testing nuclear weapons "on an equal basis." The US Department of Energy explained that these are subcritical tests that are conducted without nuclear explosions and are designed to verify the reliability and upgrade of the arsenal.
