The former Ferrari team driver, 44-year-old Brazilian racing driver Felipe Massa, commented on the lawsuit initiated by him to review the results of the 2008 Formula 1 World Cup. He told Sky Sports about this on October 31.

The plaintiff intends to challenge the result of the season, in which British Lewis Hamilton won the world championship title with a one-point advantage. The basis for the proceedings was, in Massa's opinion, a deliberate accident involving the third driver, pilot Nelson Piquet Jr., which affected the outcome of the championship race and deprived him of his chances of winning.

"I'm waiting for justice. And I don't deserve what happened to me. No one deserves it," he said in an interview with the TV channel.

Massa added that he and his lawyers had done everything they could to ensure that justice prevailed and now they were awaiting a court decision on the lawsuit against former Formula 1 director Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula 1 leadership and its governing body the FIA (International Automobile Federation), which in 2009 officially acknowledged the fact of collusion. The Renault team, however, left the results of the 2008 season unchanged. Its size was £64 million ($84.4 million).

On October 29, Reuters learned that the lawyers of the defending side made a statement during one of the court sessions on this issue that Brazilian racer Felipe Massa, who is seeking recognition as the champion of the 2008 season, was himself responsible for not receiving the title. The article noted that Ecclestone confirmed that he and former FIA president Max Mosley were aware of the incident, but did not take action.
