The media learned about the possible closure of US airspace due to the shutdown
The United States may close its airspace in the event of a threat to flight safety due to the ongoing shutdown. This was reported on October 3 by Bloomberg, citing the country's Minister of Transport, Sean Duffy.
"If we think it's unsafe, we will close the entire airspace," he said.
Duffy clarified that the situation is not critical at the moment, but the suspension of federal agencies is already creating additional risks to the stability of the country's aviation system.
The shutdown was introduced in the United States on October 1 due to the fact that the draft budget was not agreed upon by the senators. The Washington Post reported on October 10 that the administration of US President Donald Trump has already begun firing federal employees representing trade, finance, health and human services, education and homeland security.
On October 26, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna expressed the opinion that the US government shutdown could last until the end of November. Also, the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, admitted that the military of the United States army may stop paying salaries after November 15 if the shutdown continues in the country.
On November 1, Trump announced that due to the shutdown, the government would not be able to issue food stamps to Americans on time. He appealed to the court with a request to clarify how the White House can legally extend the financing of the program, and expects a quick response.
