- Titov reported at least a five-fold increase in exports of agricultural products from the Russian Federation to China
Over the past 10 years, exports of Russian agricultural products to the People's Republic of China (PRC) have increased more than fivefold. This was announced on October 25 by Boris Titov, co-chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, Special Representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin for relations with international organizations for achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
"We are witnessing a rapid increase in China's interest in Russian consumer goods, in particular, in Russian food products Over the past 10 years, Russia has risen from 13th to 8th place among suppliers of agricultural products to China, and the volume of supplies in monetary terms has increased more than fivefold," he said. TASS quotes him as saying.
Titov, speaking at the 3rd Russian-Chinese Investment Development and Trade Cooperation Forum in Shenyang, added that dairy products, eggs, fish and seafood, meat, as well as confectionery and honey are in great demand in China.
In turn, Russia, according to him, is actively accepting high-quality machine and technical products from China, which, as Titov emphasized, has made a significant step forward and in terms of its characteristics — quality, reliability and performance — is not inferior to the best world analogues, while remaining significantly more affordable.
Representatives of the press service of the Agroexport Federal Center told Izvestia on September 29 that China had become the largest buyer of Russian frozen herring. It was noted that in the period from January to September of this year, shipments to China increased 2.1 times.
