US President Donald Trump was awarded the Architect of Peace Award, established in 1995 by the Richard Nixon Foundation, the 37th President of the United States. This was announced on October 22 by the White House press service in X (former. Twitter).
The award, in the form of a statuette depicting Richard Nixon, was presented to Trump by Robert O'Brien, chairman of the foundation's board of directors and former national security adviser, in the presence of Nixon's relatives.
In the statement of the foundation on the social network X (ex. Twitter) indicated that Trump was awarded for achievements in the field of cease-fire and peace agreements. In particular, the conclusion of a peace agreement in the Gaza Strip is mentioned, as well as participation in negotiations on the settlement of conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan, India and Pakistan, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Cambodia. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on October 10 to Venezuelan politician Maria Corina Machado for fighting for the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people and striving for a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.
