Investigators have opened a criminal case after the mass poisoning of people in Buryatia. This was reported on October 19 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production for the purpose of marketing and marketing of goods and products that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers"), — stated in the Telegram channel of the department.
They added that the causes of the incident are currently being determined. The severity of the injury will also be determined as part of the forensic medical examinations.
The hospitalization of residents of Ulan-Ude in the Republic of Buryatia was reported earlier that day. According to the head of the Ministry of Health of the republic, Evgeny Ludupov, 43 people suffered from acute intestinal infection. He noted that currently 36 patients have been hospitalized, including 21 children aged seven to 15 years.
