The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering the possibility of postponing all changes in recycling

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, on behalf of First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, is considering the possibility of postponing the entry into force of all the provisions of the document concerning the new rules for calculating scrap collection for passenger cars. This was announced on October 18 by the ministry's press service.

It is clarified that the department denied information that appeared in the media about the postponement of the entry into force of the new rules for calculating scrap collection only for those owners who purchased a car before September 12.

"We would like to draw your attention to the fact that information about the postponement of the entry into force of the new rules for calculating recycling only for citizens who bought a car before September 12 is not true," the Ministry of Industry and Trade quoted TASS as saying.

The ministry also recalled that the proposed changes will not affect those importers who have already paid for recycling before the new rule comes into force.

On October 14, Manturov instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to study the possibility of postponing by a month the deadline for the introduction of new rules for calculating waste collection, which were to enter into force on November 1.

On the same day, it became known that Manturov instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to submit proposals for a possible postponement of the introduction of new rules for calculating car scrap based on the results of consideration of the appeal of the all-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya. Public activists pointed out that the force majeure delay in the delivery of cars from abroad was faced by citizens who paid for the car before the announcement of the upcoming changes.

The draft government decree developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade assumes the introduction of a new criterion for calculating the size of the scrap yard from November 1 of this year — engine power. The existing grace periods for individual importers who import cars for personal use (3.4 thousand rubles for new models and 5.2 thousand rubles for cars older than three years) will remain. However, they will only apply to models no more powerful than 160 hp.
