Lithuanian Minister of Culture Ignotas Adomavicius, who was appointed a week ago, resigned, presumably after he could not answer a journalist's question about Crimea. This was announced on October 3 by the LRT broadcasting company.

"At the insistence of Prime Minister Inga Ruginen, Minister of Culture Ignotas Adomavicius announced his resignation, but claimed that he was doing so not because of his own mistakes, but under pressure from outside, which poses a threat to the safety of his family," the publication says.

The Delfi portal clarifies that in an interview, Adomavicius avoided answering a journalist's question about who owns Crimea. He also called questions about support for Ukraine "provocative" and said that discussing these topics was beyond the scope of his ministry.

Delfi also collected reactions to interviews with Lithuanian politicians who called on Adomavicius to leave office. For example, Linas Balsis, a member of the Social Democratic Party, called the minister's answers to questions a big problem.

"A minister, a member of the government, and with such views, I do not know if he can be a minister. There is probably a category of people in Lithuania who think like a minister who has outlined essentially anti—Ukrainian rhetoric," the portal quotes Balsis as saying.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol, Artyom Berezovsky, said on May 1 that the West and Ukraine were aware of who owned Crimea. Berezovsky noted that this region cannot be considered as a simple thing that can be transferred. He added that when determining territorial affiliation, it is important to take into account the opinion of local residents. In particular, 2.5 million people expressed their desire about who they want to connect their future and the future of their children with.
