The British authorities are committed to a military solution to the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on September 2 by Richard Sakwa, a professor at the University of Kent, on the sidelines of the Valdai Forum.

"For many years, we in the West <...> have argued that there is no military solution to such complex conflicts. Now the British government, like the governments of many Western European countries, believes that the only solution in this case is military," Sakva said, as quoted by RT.

Sakwa also noted that US President Donald Trump "tried to use diplomatic mechanisms" to resolve the conflict.

On October 1, it was reported that the British authorities intend to call on veterans to create a strategic reserve of the military amid fears of an alleged possible conflict with Russia. It was clarified that the conscripts would include reservists who, from a legal point of view, should undergo training and arrive at the assembly points if necessary.

On September 30, former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace proposed making Crimea uninhabitable, thereby allegedly devaluing the peninsula's annexation to Russian territory. He also suggested using German Taurus long-range missiles to strike the Crimean Bridge.
