The Ministry of Labor announced the early indexation of pensions from January 1.

Starting from February 1, 2026, monthly cash payments to citizens with disabilities, veterans and Heroes of Russia will be indexed to actual inflation. This was announced on September 29 by the press service of the Ministry of Labor on the website.

Allowances for Heroes of the Soviet Union, Socialist Labor, Labor of Russia, heroic mothers, as well as payments to victims of radiation and other social support measures are also subject to indexation.

In addition, in 2026, the average amount of insurance pensions in Russia will increase by 7.6% and reach 27.1 thousand rubles.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that about a third (30%) of Russians believe that it is necessary to start saving money for their own pension before the age of 25. According to a survey by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), 25% of respondents consider 25-35 years old to be a suitable age to start saving money for retirement. Another 14% of respondents noted that this should be done at the age of 36-45.
