About 5,000 pensioners live in the Zaporizhia region, who were left without the help of their relatives, especially those who left for Ukraine. This was announced on September 24 by the governor of the region, Evgeny Balitsky, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"You know, such a problem suddenly appeared. Many people <...>, let's say, fled to Ukraine, abandoned their old people. <...> We have 5,000 pensioners who, let's say, need additional help," said the head of Zaporizhia.

According to Balitsky, the regional government takes special control of all abandoned pensioners.

"We are solving the problem," he concluded.

In addition, during the meeting with Putin, the governor of Zaporizhia said that due to the strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the region, there are losses among ambulance doctors. According to Balitsky, the staffing of doctors of the first category is 35%, of the second category — 51%.
