There is a shortage of medical personnel in the Zaporizhia region. At the same time, specialists become a target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the head of the region, Yevgeny Balitsky, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin on September 24. Against this background, the authorities are installing electronic warfare systems in medical and obstetric centers. Despite the difficult situation, the region as a whole is developing — people are gradually returning, and important social infrastructure facilities are being built.

What was discussed at the meeting between Putin and Balitsky

Construction of a 240-bed regional hospital for children is nearing completion in the Zaporizhia region. 300 specialists will work there. The authorities expect to hand over the facility at the beginning of next year, the head of the region, Evgeny Balitsky, said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 24.

At the same time, there are problems in the medical field in the region. We are talking about a serious shortage of personnel. The Zemsky Doktor program operates in the region, and 64 specialists have been involved in it this year.

According to the governor, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are purposefully hitting the social infrastructure. In this regard, there are losses among medical personnel and paramedics in the region. Against this background, the authorities are taking various measures: in particular, the installation of electronic warfare in medical and obstetric centers is underway.

— But the situation is such that about 150 thousand people in different cities live near the collision line. And today, unfortunately, the Ukronazi regime, supported by the West, does not selectively attack medical facilities either," said Yevgeny Balitsky.

Despite the difficult situation, the number of children in the region is growing — according to Evgeny Balitsky, there are now over 55 thousand students in the region, although there were 50 thousand in 2023. According to the governor, this means that "people are returning."

A home for the elderly is under construction in the Zaporizhia region, and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2027. There are 207 thousand pensioners in the region. The average pension is 21 thousand rubles. There are no problems with the payment of pensions.

5,000 pensioners in the region need additional assistance. We are talking about people who have been left without relatives.

— Many people left, especially those who left, let's say, fled to Ukraine, abandoned their old people, — said the head of the subject.

A regional center for assistance to participants of a special military operation and their family members has been opened in the Zaporizhia region. This category of citizens can claim various social benefits, in particular, they are provided with a land plot.
