The Indian summer period in Moscow will last longer than usual, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said on September 1 in his Telegram channel.

"The first half of the month is expected to be especially comfortable, when the thermometer in Moscow will constantly tend to reach 20 degrees Celsius, which is 5 degrees above normal, and the total amount of precipitation will lag 2-3 times behind the climatic schedule and will not exceed 1/5 of the monthly volume of heavenly moisture. This indicates a large number of fine days and a prolonged Indian summer," the forecaster wrote.

According to him, the meteorological autumn, which, according to long-term data, usually begins in the capital on September 2, will shift to the second half of the month this year. Thus, the summer will last at least two weeks longer.

At the same time, the third and fourth weeks of September will look like autumn — rains will become more frequent and temperatures will drop, the expert noted.

On August 29, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, announced that the air temperature in all regions of the Russian Federation, with the exception of Chukotka, would exceed the norm for 10 days. He stressed that this period will last until September 7.
