Four people disappeared on a motorboat in Chukotka
Four people disappeared in a motorboat on Lake Krasnoe in Chukotka. This was announced on July 28 by a source of Izvestia.
A local resident reported missing people in the village of Ust-Belaya. Her mother Anastasia, stepfather Mikhail and two of their friends went by motorboat to Lake Krasnoe, but did not come back.
According to Izvestia, the missing managed to call home only once. After that, the connection with them was cut off. The coastline is now being surveyed by volunteers. There are plans to involve a helicopter in the search. The boat itself has not yet been found.
Lake Krasnoe is known for its uneven muddy bottom and depth of more than 4 m. In addition, the reservoir is influenced by winds from the Anadyr Bay and tides.
The daughter of the disappeared couple and their friends, Ekaterina, in turn, in an interview with Izvestia, suggested what had happened to them. According to the girl, her mother, stepfather and their visiting relatives went boating and relaxing for a week. The missing set off from the village of Ust-Belaya, and a week later they planned to return to Anadyr. The connection with them was lost.
However, passing barges noticed a boat with people stranded. Previously, it was the girl's relatives who stayed there for several hours. It was not possible to swim up to the people. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has now flown to the scene.
On July 9, the Rescue Service of Yakutia reported that a motorboat had capsized on the Aldan River in the republic, and four people were missing. According to the agency, one of the passengers of the vessel managed to get ashore on his own. Rescuers also found personal items that could belong to the people in the boat.
