The court arrested the ex-mayor of Kaspiysk Gontsov in the case of a bribe

A court in Dagestan, at the request of the investigation, detained Boris Gontsov, the former head of the city of Kaspiysk, suspected of taking a particularly large bribe. This was reported on July 22 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic.

"The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the former head of the city of Kaspiysk, suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale")," the Maks messenger reported.

Currently, investigative actions are being carried out in the criminal case aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime, securing evidence and identifying other episodes of illegal activity.

The day before, investigators opened a criminal case against the former mayor of Kaspiysk. Then it was noted that from April to May 2023, the suspect, together with the head of the municipal control department of the city administration, received a bribe in the form of five apartments from the director of a commercial organization.
