After the liberation of the settlement of Shyikovka, units of the 1st Tank Army of the Zapad group of forces occupied the enemy's defense area of about 6 square kilometers in the Kharkiv region. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on July 4.
"The division's assault units occupied the enemy's defense area of about 6 square kilometers," the statement said.
Thanks to aerial reconnaissance, hidden positions and approaching reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were identified in a timely manner, which then hit the calculations of unmanned systems and artillery units of the group.
In the footage published by the Ministry of Defense, Russian servicemen demonstrate the national flag of Russia after establishing control over the settlement. At the end of the video, it is shown that the territory has been completely cleared.
On June 3, the Ministry of Defense spoke about the importance of the liberation of Alexandrovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The ministry clarified that during the fighting, Russian fighters occupied the defense area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an area of more than 5 square kilometers and cleared over a thousand buildings. According to the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian side lost up to a company of personnel, as well as 17 armored combat vehicles, 18 vehicles, and 12 units of motorized vehicles.
