President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev arrives in St. Petersburg

The plane of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev landed at St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport on June 4. The leader of the republic flew to Russia to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Mirziyoyev was met at the airport by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov. After they shook hands and said a few words, the Uzbek president was offered bread and salt, and then put in a Russian Aurus.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced on June 2 that in addition to Mirziyoyev, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Chinese Deputy Chairman Han Zheng and Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud would take part in the SPIEF.

On May 30, the Korean Central News Agency reported that an economic delegation from the DPRK had traveled to Russia and Belarus to participate in the SPIEF, as well as the Belagro international exhibition. The organizers of the SPIEF announced earlier that representatives of more than 130 countries and territories had confirmed their participation in the event.
