Ex-senator Arashukov wanted to get a job in a souvenir shop in the colony for a bribe.

Former Senator Rauf Arashukov, who is serving a life sentence in the Black Dolphin penal colony, planned to pay a bribe to FSIN employees for employment in a souvenir shop and receive additional privileges. This is evidenced by the relevant materials, which were reviewed by RIA Novosti on June 3.

"[The bribe was intended] for deliberately illegal actions in favor of Arashukov, namely, giving the following illegal instructions to employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia by the head of the operational department and the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia: to provide Arashukov with monthly visits with his family and relatives, to provide Arashukov with parcels and transfers with items and products without restrictions, to employ Arashukov in the production of a souvenir shop", — the materials say.

In addition, the former senator wanted to be given the opportunity to make phone calls to relatives. Arashukov also demanded that another person sentenced to life imprisonment be transferred to his cell.

The life sentence for Arashukov and his father, former adviser to Gazprom Mezhregiongaz CEO Raul Arashukov, in the case of murders and participation in an organized criminal group was approved on September 28, 2023. The same decision was recognized by the Supreme Court as legitimate more than a year later, on October 30, 2024. On January 13, 2026, the lawyer of the ex-senator Dmitry Trubnikov told Izvestia that his client was also sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony in the case of bribing an employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Orenburg region in an especially large amount — 3 million rubles.

Since then, Arashukov has managed to ask in vain for a special military operation (SVO), as well as to receive a refusal to transfer to a colony in Mordovia. After a while, he demanded to reimburse himself 100 thousand rubles for the non-delivery of the sent products.
