Iranian watermelons first appeared on the shelves of the Krasnoyarsk Territory
Watermelons from Iran and avocados from the Netherlands appeared on the shelves of stores in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for the first time. Since the beginning of the year, Krasnoyarsk has received more than 47 thousand tons of plant products. The main volume, 25 thousand tons, consists of vegetables. The main exporting countries are Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, China, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
About 21 thousand tons more are shipments of fruits. These are bananas, apples, mangoes, grapes and tangerines.
The specialists did not allow the infected products to enter the region. In 103 cases, traces of pests such as southern tomato moth, Comstock worm and Western flower thrips were found on the fruits. More than 270 tons of fruits and vegetables were sent for disinfection, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.
At the end of March, a shipment of infected tomatoes weighing more than 1.35 thousand kg was found in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The vegetables were imported from China, the press service of the regional Rosselkhoznadzor administration reports.
