The Okko streaming service sued the Red Lion sports bar in Moscow for 500 thousand rubles for illegally broadcasting the final matches of the Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. It follows from the information of the Rusprofile service on April 3.

"The software was used by the defendant at the place of his main activity (in the Red Lion sports bar for the purpose of providing catering services) without registering an appropriate Okko Sport Pubs subscription in violation of the terms of the user agreement," the court said in its decision.

In Russia, only Okko has the right to show matches of these tournaments in the 2024-2027 seasons. The owner of the bar was supposed to subscribe as a legal entity, but instead used an employee's personal account.

Initially, Okko demanded 2.5 million rubles, but the court considered the amount too high, since the sports bar violated the law for the first time and wanted to sign a license agreement. As a result, the defendant will pay 500 thousand rubles, as well as compensate for the costs of state duty and delivery of claims — about 30.2 thousand rubles. The decision has not entered into force.

In April last year, the Moscow Arbitration Court recovered 420 thousand rubles from the sushi and roll delivery network Ebidoebi according to the claim of the singer Instasamka for using the reworked lyrics of the song "For money yes" in advertising without the consent of the artist. According to the Izvestia correspondent, the reason for filing the lawsuit was videos posted by the restaurant on social networks, in which the heroine in the image of an Instagrammer accepts food from a courier and parodies the singer.
